SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
Seventeen (17) Judges, seven (7) Magistrates in five (5) districts in four (4) States have accepted Mr. Brennan as an ADA expert. Mr. Brennan has testified in six (6) Trials in three (3) districts, given court testimony in 29 cases, 37 other sworn testimonies, involvement 7 class actions, nineteen (19) Title II cases, and over 529 successfully litigated cases. Michael Brennan served as Class expert in BP Amoco Stations and Convenience Stores Class Action CASE NO. 98-2002-CIV-GOLD and Plaintiffs' Expert in the Publix Supermarket Consent Decree Case No. 98-917-CIV-HOEVELER.
Mr. Brennan has over 29 years of experience in publicly owned and commercial facilities to assist them by increasing accessibility to comply with the Americans for Disability Act, Florida Accessibility Building Codes, UFAS, FHA, and ANSI regulations. He has provided expert testimony in both Federal and State courts producing compliance assessment reports, correlating the findings with applicable regulations and providing proposed remediations together with a cost analysis. The reports correlate with digital pictures documenting the noncompliant components. In May 2003, the Board of County Commissioners for Monroe County unanimously approved the hiring of Mr. Brennan has an ADA consultant for the Florida Keys Council for People with Disabilities for Monroe County to be used by the Disability Council. Mr. Brennan has served 6 years by acclamation as both Chairperson and Vice-Chair for the Commission on Disability Issues appointed by the Miami-Dade County Commissioners.
Mr. Brennan has served as consultant to the Association for Disabled Americans (ADA) Incorporated (National), Florida Paraplegic Association (FPA-State), Deaf Advocates of Miami-Dade County (County), Alliance for ADA Compliance, Inc. (State), Coral Springs Advocacy Committee for the Disabled, (State), Manasota Post Polio Support Group, Sarasota Center for Independent Living, Action Disability Advocates, Inc., Daytona, Out of Desperation Inc. Orlando and more than seventy-seven (79) individual plaintiffs in over 548 cases in the area of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing and Florida 553.
